Derek Bedell

Coach Bedell is starting his 9th season as the head football coach at Mayfair High School. In his past eight seasons, he has led the Monsoons to an overall record of 58 wins and 29 losses, and seven consecutive appearances in the CIF Playoffs. Before Mayfair, Derek spent time as an assistant at La Mirada and Bellflower High School.  Along with coaching on the high school level, Coach Bedell has 14 years of collegiate coaching experience.  He spent several years coaching Community College football, at Citrus College and Glendale College. While at Glendale College he was a member of the coaching staff that led the Vaqueros to a Western States Conference Championship as well as 2 Junior College Bowl Appearances. Derek also spent three seasons on the NCAA Division III level at the University of La Verne.  Derek began his career at Arcadia High School. Derek resides in Long Beach with his wife Victoria and their three children Derek, Mia, and Jack.
